CRUEL WORKS OF NATURE is my hand-illustrated collection of horror stories about the natural world. Monsters, critters, crawlers, and more…Nature, but not as you know it.
“Gemma delivers! She has the ability to make your heart race.” – SCREAM MAGAZINE
“Bite-sized, nasty bastards of fiction that bleed from the pages with pungent chunks of slimy innards.” – Morgan. K. Tanner
Featuring stories produced by the NoSleep podcast. Available in Kindle and Paperback.
Every year, on her birthday, Laura gets a letter from a stranger. That stranger claims to know the whereabouts of her missing friend Bobby, but there’s a catch: he’ll only tell her what he knows in exchange for something…personal. So begins Laura’s sordid relationship with her new penpal, built on a foundation of quid pro quo.
“It’s suspenseful, scary, some parts are brutal…it gets even scarier after you read it and start thinking about it.” – Night Worms
“Dear Laura had me breathless, compelled, and clammy from start to finish.” – Aiden Merchant
THESE WOUNDS WE MAKE is my new illustrated short story collection.
Previously titled TILL THE SCORE IS PAID, this follow-up to CRUEL WORKS OF NATURE brings you 13 new hand-illustrated tales of terror, including two stories unique to this edition. Journey to hell, go on a daddy-daughter date, learn what’s in Lee’s basement, eat the world’s messiest birthday cake, and try to survive the blitz.
“The minute I start reading I am immediately drawn in and compelled to finish….she has outdone herself” – Cemetery Dance

“With great skill, Gemma Amor has delivered a wonderful story, as full of tremendous emotion as it is terrifying action.” – This is Horror
“Perhaps most noteworthy is Gemma’s ability to seamlessly stitch together mythology with epic proportions while simultaneously laying down solid groundwork for the reader to stand on so that suspending disbelief comes effortlessly/naturally.” – Cemetery Dance
Ruby Miller is free at last. Free from her past, her tormentor, her shitty family and the even shittier odds she was given at birth.
But freedom has a price, and when the young girl hell-bent on starting a new life crashes her cherry red 1989 Pontiac Bonneville on America’s loneliest road, she finds out just how dear that price is.
GIRL ON FIRE is a searing tale of fire, revenge and redemption, a coming-of-age tale with a bite, because, let’s face it…happy endings are for children, and some girls just want to watch the world burn.
“I was like a rag doll in Amor’s clutches in this book as she threw me about, battered me, burned me and just had her wicked way – it was a rollercoaster of a ride and I never wanted it to stop” – Storgy.com
“Steeped in anger and rage, but it also has a passionate beauty to it” -Night Worms
FEAR TO TREAD is my forthcoming short story collection of travel-themed horror stories from the farthest reaches of this world (and a few others). Due out 2021.
Horror fiction author with a paranormal twist
I specialise in the dark and mysterious, with a particular penchant for the paranormal, the parallel, and the phantasmagorical. Which is a fancy way of saying I like to write scary stories about things that go ‘bump’ in the night.
Why? Well, that’s easy. Life can be dreary and colourless sometimes. I like to plumb the depths of my imagination, create worlds in which a person could get truly lost, worlds inhabited by monsters, mayhem and madness.
